The minimum space you need around your dining table to comfortably get in and out of your chair, access your sideboard and be able to walk behind anyone who is sitting down.

Understanding Seating Sizes for Rectangular Dining Tables

  • Inset Leg Placement

    • In this example, an 8 seater is shown to need at least 1.7m between the legs in order for us to have 567mm for each chair. (Ideally, for armless chairs, we want 600-650mm space for each chair)

    The following sizing is recommended* for inset leg designs:

    • 6 Seater = 2-2.2m x 1m
    • 8 Seater = 2.6-2.8m x 1m
    • 10 Seater = 3.2-3.4m x 1m
    • 12 Seater = 3.8-4.2m x 1m
    *recommended for armless chairs. Chairs with arm rests need more space to sit comfortably (700-750mm).

  • Outside/End Leg Placement

    • In this example, an 8 seater is shown to need at least 2.3m between the legs in order for us to have 550mm for each chair. We can see a length reduction of 200mm. This design also reduces the overall footprint of the table and chairs as there are now no chairs at the ends of the table.

    The following sizing is recommended* for outside leg designs:

    • 6 Seater = 1.8m x 1m
    • 8 Seater = 2.4m x 1m
    • 10 Seater = 3m x 1m
    • 12 Seater = 3.6m x 1m
    *recommended for armless chairs. Chairs with arm rests need more space to sit comfortably (700-750mm).

Do you have a warranty?

Yes, we have a one year structural warranty on all of our furniture.

The idea is that, if a piece of furniture can last expansion and contraction for a full cycle of seasons, it should last for a very long time.

How do I care for my furniture?

  • Use a damp cloth to wipe down the wooden parts of your furniture
  • Do not use any chemical-based cleaning products on the wood. This includes ammonia-based cleaning products and alcohol-based sanitizer. These will break down the oil or varnish finish
  • Wipe up any spills as quickly as possible

What are your lead times?

Our lead times vary from 4 - 12 weeks depending on the size, complexity and quantity of your order as well as how busy we are at the time. This is constantly changing so please get in contact with us for an accurate lead time.
